Hairy Highlander is built by a family of nature lovers. We believe in a green world overflowing with native woodlands.

We actively contribute to rewilding efforts across Scotland, supporting the restoration of native trees, plants, and habitats that provide refuge for wildlife and help rebuild the land as it once was. This commitment is built into the business itself - not as an afterthought, but as part of every product we create.

As part of our commitment, we are also a Business Partner of Scotland: The Big Picture, supporting long-term restoration efforts across Scotland.

We keep our footprint as light as possible. All parcel packaging is plastic-free, and any materials we receive are either reused or responsibly recycled. Our products are crafted using natural and organic ingredients, sourced from trusted, family-run suppliers who share our standards for cruelty-free production and responsible packaging.

Every detail is considered. Our oils are housed in glass bottles, our balms in aluminium and glass jars - both infinitely recyclable.

This is not a trend or a campaign. It’s a long-term commitment to restoring the landscapes that inspired Hairy Highlander in the first place.

Our eco-friendly, organic Apparel is made with a minimum of 70% organic or recycled materials, including material blends. To ensure the authenticity of the materials used, our Apparel provider collects valid certificates from their suppliers. They accept GOTS or OCS certificates as evidence of organic composition for our apparel products. In terms of recycled composition, they accept either GRS or RCS certificates.

We aim to maintain a paperless system wherever possible and avoid the use of paper documents such as receipts, invoices, and emails. Our leaflets are exclusively made from recycled paper.

All our products are either handcrafted in small batches or made to order further reducing environmental impact.
